# Add credits with GEN

Turn GEN into credits: amounts, steps, timing and recovering a payment.

You add credits by converting **GEN** on **Robinhood Chain**. 1 GEN becomes **1,000 credits**.

The GEN you convert is burned on-chain, so credits can't be turned back into GEN.

## Before you start

* GEN in a wallet on **Robinhood Chain**.
* A small amount of Robinhood Chain's gas token to pay the network fee.
* Any wallet works. It doesn't have to be the wallet you signed in with.

## Steps

### Choose an amount

Go to **Credits** in the workspace and choose how many credits to add. Presets: **1,000**, **10,000** and **50,000** credits.

* Minimum: **1 credit** (0.001 GEN).
* Maximum per payment: **1,000 GEN** (1,000,000 credits).

### Sign to link the payment to your account

Your wallet asks you to sign a message. It's free (no gas) and ties this payment to your Router account. The signature is valid for **15 minutes**.

### Confirm the transaction

Your wallet sends one transaction that burns the GEN. You pay the network gas fee.

### Credits arrive

Router adds the credits once the transaction is **finalized** on Robinhood Chain. Router checks for finalized payments every **15 seconds**.

## If your credits don't appear

* **Wait for finality.** Credits are added only after the block is finalized.
* **Recover with the transaction hash.** If the page closed before Router saw your transaction, paste the transaction hash on the Credits page to recover the payment.
* Each account can start up to **20 payments per hour**.
